General Information:

Sophanie operates via a website on the Internet. We do not receive personal callers but do provide a jewellery party service for evenings or for coffee mornings within the Home Counties, as we are based in London. Prices are subject to change without prior notice and orders are invoiced at prices current at the time of dispatch. We are not VAT registered yet so VAT will not be added to prices at the checkout.

The Goods:

We deal with cultured freshwater pearls from Asia, with our main supplier based in China and a few UK suppliers. We also have a selection of Rose Quartz jewellery supplied from China. Pearls are organic gems. Each pearl is unique. Therefore no two strands of pearls are exactly alike and have been put together by hand. Whilst being termed as cultured these pearls are a natural product and have their own characteristics. This adds a special, individual quality to the set of pearls that you own. This also means that the colour, shape and size and quality will vary slightly from strand to strand. The photographs of the products are not to scale and any illustration of a product or description of size, dimension or style is provided in good faith, however it cannot be guaranteed as absolutely correct.

Items in Stock:

Where any items are not in stock Sophanie will indicate by that item that they are “Out of Stock”. If it is something that you are particularly interested in please contact us and we can advise on when the item is likely to be in stock again. In the unlikely event that by the time your order reaches us the item is no longer available then we will contact you and offer a suitable alternative or advise on availability.

One Year Guarantee:

All our products are guaranteed for one year against faulty workmanship or materials.

Returns Policy:

If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with your pearl jewellery, then you may return it to us within 30 days after receipt of the goods and request a full refund or an alternative item of the same value (if the item is of a different value the balance will either be refunded or you will need to pay the difference). The goods must be unused and in their original condition with their presentation case or pouch plus any other materials or leaflets included in the return. It is advisable to obtain a proof of posting receipt and to insure the items with the Royal Mail. Once we have received your goods in their original condition we will then be able to process your refund or send out an alternative item.

Earrings: Sophanie does not offer a returns policy on earrings due to hygiene reasons, unless the earrings are damaged.

Items delivered broken or faulty must be returned to us within 7 days. It is advisable to contact Sophanie immediately either by phone or by e-mail advising us of the problem and if it is possible we will offer a suitable solution. All items that are broken or faulty must be returned to us in their original packaging. Items will be replaced or in the event of the product not being available either a gift voucher or a full refund will be offered. However items will not be credited or replaced if Sophanie considers the item to have been damaged through mistreatment.

Payment Arrangements:

At the checkout you will have three payment options.
Firstly, you can pay online by all major credit and debit via a 128bit Secure Server.
Secondly, if you have a PayPal™ account you may pay quickly using the PayPal™ link.
Thirdly, you have the option to pay by cheque following the on-screen advice, however your goods will not be despatched until the cheque has been cleared by our bank.

Delivery Arrangements:

Please note that orders received before 5.00pm will be dispatched on the next working day.

Sophanie offers three UK delivery methods:

1.    Royal Mail First Class post:

All orders are dispatched by Royal Mail First Class post on the next working day.

2.    Royal Mail First Class Recorded Signed For™ service

You can choose this option at a cost of 95p.  (See Royal Mail website for more details – www.royalmail.com).

All orders over £60 will be sent via this method free of charge.

3.    Royal Mail Special Delivery™ Next Day

Alternatively you can opt for the Royal Mail Special Delivery™ Next Day at a cost of £3.65. This provides compensation for loss or damage up to a value of £2,500 Once again full details of this service can be found on the Royal Mail website www.royalmail.com.

Please note that as orders are dispatched on the next working day an order placed on Thursday will be dispatched on Friday – however this then means that the parcel will not be delivered until Monday (unless it is a Bank Holiday) as the Royal Mail only provides this service on a Saturday if a supplement is paid for the Saturday delivery.  If ordering on a Thursday and requiring the order for arrival on Friday please contact the office via e-mail:  pearls@sophanie.com and we will confirm if it is possible to dispatch your order on that same day.  Alternatively you can telephone the office where an answer phone service is in operation: 020 83467087.

Please note orders with a value of £110 or over will be dispatched via the Royal Mail Special Delivery™ Next Day free of charge.  These orders will be dispatched on the next working day – please see above for details of Thursday, Friday and Saturday dispatch and delivery.

Data Protection Act: We are registered under the Data Protection Act and will not supply information to third parties.


As jewellery contains small parts these present a choking hazard and a risk of fatal injury. We do not recommend that children under the age of 6 years wear jewellery items and we also recommend close adult supervision of any child wearing jewellery.
